       Noodles
       While Italians have long said that they were the ones who invented the noodle,the fact that archaeologists(考古學(xué)家) have found noodles in China,In 2005,a bowl of yellow noodles was found in Lajia,in northwestern China.
       It is said this bowl of noodles was buried(埋) about 4,000 years ago,while the kind of grain(谷物) used in this type of noodle had been grown in China for about 7,000 years.
       Crossbow(弩)
       The crossbow was invented during the Warring States period,which began around 2,600 years ago.Crossbows were valued because they were easy to use.The Chinese even took it a step further around A.D.200,when a great man called Zhuge Liang created a "Repeating" crossbow.

  • 3.The LEGO (樂高) Group has been working on a way to make LEGO bricks (磚) out of recycled plastic.The bricks aren't ready yet,but the company says it's making progress.
       Many people know LEGO bricks allow users to build things that don't fall apart easily.This ability is called "clutch power".The LEGO bricks are made from a kind of plastic called ABS.ABS plastic makes LEGO bricks very tough (堅固的),and gives them great clutch power.
       Sadly,ABS plastic can't be recycled.That's a big problem.There is a large plastic waste problem in the world.Yet LEGO makes about 110 billion bricks every year.
       But since 2015,LEGO has made an effort to make their products more earth-friendly.Three years ago,the company began making some LEGO parts,like trees,out of a plastic made from sugar cane (甘蔗).Recently,LEGO started using paper bags instead of plastic to reduce waste.
       But making bricks out of recycled plastic is a big challenge.The goal is to make bricks out of PET plastic,which is softer than ABS plastic and can be found in things like bottles and clothing.Over the last three years,the company has tested hundreds of ways.Now,they've found a way to make a good brick from PET.
       The LEGO Group's goal is to add colors to the bricks which are just white now.The company also aims to make all of their main products out of recycled materials by the year 2030.
       "We know kids care about the environment," said Tim Brooks,a leader at LEGO, "so we want to let kids know we're working on it."
