2.I'm interested in coding and technology, but there's a huge gender gap in the computing field, meaning girls are in the minority.I wanted to change that.I started the Catwalk Coding Camp where girls learn how to code(編程) light-up accessories (配飾) and show them at a fashion show.I thought the main result would be that some would be interested enough to learn more, but it turned out that the girls were hungry for role models in the field.
I'd never seen myself as a role model, but suddenly there were younger girls looking up to me.It made me want to be better. This "role model psychology" doesn't just change what I do out in the world;it changes what I do for myself.I'm halfway through my first year as a computer science major. To be honest,it's not always easy!
I struggled, and there was a moment when I considered changing my major.Difficult as it is,I survive and move on.Look around the lecture hall and only one third of the students are girls. Then when we break up into sections led by more advanced students, only 2 to 3 sections are run by women.
It keeps me going to know that so many girls look up to me.They have decided that if another girl can go into computer science, they can as well.I want to do well so I can become a section leader in years to come, hoping to close the gender gap in the field.

3.Smoking in your own home in Thailand may now be considered a crime,if the smoke is considered harmful to other people in the house.
The new law,F(xiàn)amily Protection and Development Promotion Act,was initiated (啟動) by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and was announced in the Royal Gazette on May 22,2019.The law aims at limiting smoking at home which might be hazardous for others' health living under the same roof.In that case,it will be considered as "domestic violence".The new law came into force on August 20.
According to the center for research and knowledge management for tobacco control,at the Faculty of Medical Science of Mahidol University, there are about 4.9 million households where one or more family members smoke. An average of 10.3 million people have unconsciously become passive smokers because they've been breathing in smoke at home.Scientific studies show that passive smokers are at greater risk of being affected by cancer.
Of 75 child patients from houses where smoking is practiced,76% of them were found to have nicotine traces in their urine(尿液),with 43% of them having nicotine content going beyond permitted levels.Smoking at home also may lead to physical or emotional violence because of aggressiveness(攻擊性)when there is a lack of smoking, and might as well ruin relationships between smokers and non-smoker family members.
According to the new law, anyone who thinks they are affected by domestic smoking can report to officials concerned so that inspectors will be sent to investigate and take legal action against the smokers.Once confirmed, the court may order a person to receive treatment to quit smoking in an attempt to protect the person's family. In February in 2019,Thailand had banned smoking at six of its airports along with a ban in public places.

Brownie and Harry were neighbor dogs in Stowe,a beautiful and peaceful town in Lamoille County,Vermont,United States, who met everyday to play together, running after each other joyfully.Like pairs of dogs you can find in most any neighborhood, these two loved each other and played together so often that they had worn a path through the grass of the field between their respective houses.
One evening,Brownie's family noticed that Brownie hadn't returned home as usual. They went looking for him with no success.Brownie still didn't show up the next day, and, despite their efforts to find him,by the next week he was still missing.
Curiously, the other dog,Harry, showed up at Brownie's house alone one day.He barked, jumped and pestered(糾纏) Brownie's human family, showing that he was filled with anxiety.Busy with their own lives, the family just ignored the nervous little neighbor dog and decided to let the missing dog go.
Harry refused to take "no" for an answer.Ted,Brownie's owner, was steadily disturbed by the angry, determined little dog.One morning Harry followed Ted about, barking more insistently, then rushing toward a nearby empty lot and back,as if to say, "Follow me,please! It's very urgent!"
Eventually,Ted went after the mad Harry across the empty lot as Harry paused to race back and bark encouragingly. The little dog led the man under a tree, past some tree jungles,to a lonely spot a half mile from the house. There Ted found his beloved Brownie, and he was alive, with one of his front legs falling into a steel trap.At that moment,Ted understood the strange behavior of Harry.
Feeling regretful,Ted now wished he had taken Harry's earlier appeals seriously. However,Harry had done more than simply led Brownie's human owner to his trapped friend.Ted noticed something quite remarkable before him and was shocked that the amount of love that the dog has for his partner could be so outstanding.
