At that time，Pickles was relaxing herself as she sat on Joe's lap （大腿） on the sofa，like she always did when Joe watched movies. "Mom，get me a cat shaver!" yelled Joe，with some annoying white hair floating into the air.
      "Meow?。ㄟ鳎? Pickles stopped licking，and stared at Joe straight in the eye，scared.Sometimes it seems cats can understand our words.Maybe they can understand all of the time and just ignore us.But this time it just might have understood it，because the very next day she was gone.
      "She must have slipped out when I went to work，" said Mom at the supper table." Good thing that cat hair is gone，too，" replied Joe，picking off a strand of cat hair on the fork. "You don't mean that，" said Mom in a gentle voice. "I think I do，" said Joe without hesitation.
      As the week went on，Joe found less and less cat hair on things.Joe's bowl was empty of cat hair.Her soap was free of floating fur.Socks and fish tank were clear of super-soft cat hair.Her keyboard and baseball glove were unaffected by fuzzy，delicate hair.Joe now had a nearly hair-less zone.But the trouble was that Pickles was gone，too.
