6.Heavy rain continues to hit South Carolina after a powerful storm flooded(發(fā)水災(zāi)) much of the state over the weekend.At least,seven deaths have been caused so far.Many cars ended up completely under water on flooded streets.Even weather experts said the heavy storm was the kind seen only once in a thousand years.

One of the hardest hit areas in Columbia was near Gills Greek,where a weather station recorded over 20 inches of rain over the weekend.The police used boats to save the family of Jeff Whalen,whose house was completely under water.
