Pets are always an attraction to people，especially when it comes to children.Daniel and his sister Ella always want to have their own pets.One day，under the permission of their parents，the brother and sister decided to buy a pet dog.They headed down to the local pet store and had a look around.It was a very small pet store that did not have many animals.
Mr.Johnson，the owner of the shop，was a nice old man.He walked over and greeted Daniel and Ella.
"What can I do for you？" he asked.
"We would like to buy a pet dog." Ella responded.
"Ah，well，we are not a big pet shop，" Mr.Johnson told her. "So we only have two dogs to choose from."
They asked Mr.Johnson to show them the dogs.
Mr.Johnson led them to the back of the store where the two dogs were.One of them was a very big Norwegian Elkhound named Buddha.It looked strong and fierce.The other was a very tiny Papillon named Hiccup.It looked cute and lovely.
Ella wanted the tiny Hiccup，while Daniel wanted Buddha.To make a decision，they walked outside to discuss.
Even after they had a discussion，they couldn't agree on a dog.Ella suggested they race home for it.The winner of the race would choose the dog.
Daniel agreed.Before the race started，Daniel told Ella that her left shoe was broken.When Ella looked down and realized she was cheated by her brother，Daniel had run off.
Daniel ran as hard as he could.He really wanted that Norwegian Elkhound as a pet.He looked back.Ella was so far behind that he couldn't even see her.
Daniel finally got home.He was tired but he was happy.He knew he was the winner.
