As soon as they heard the police helicopter （直升飛機(jī)） flying above Roseville，Calif.，Hope Claiborne and Makenna Rogers，both 11，sprang into action.They heard from the helicopter loudspeaker that police were looking for volunteers to help find Glenetta Belford，a 97-year-old woman with dementia （癡呆） who had walked away from her care center.They needed to find Belford before nightfall，and it was already about 4 p.m.Hope' s brother，Kashton Claiborne，and his friend，Logan Hultman，both 10，also decided to join them.
    The four rode up and down the streets for more than an hour.After breaking for dinner，the kids did another search in their community.Then，at 6：30 p.m.，Hope saw her：an elderly woman，slowly walking around a street corner. "I was so excited to find her.We all went over to her and asked， 'What are you doing？' She didn' t really understand us and told us to go away，" Hope said.
    While the other kids kept talking to Belford，Hope called 911 and told the dispatcher （調(diào)度員） that they' d found the lost woman.Less than a minute after the dispatcher learned where the children and Belford were，police arrived，and Belford was quickly returned to her care center.
    "The dispatcher was a little surprised to hear a young voice on the line，" said Rob Baquera，public information officer for the Roseville Police Department.
