The 24th Winter Olympic Games was held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou，Hebei Province.It was the first time for China to hold such games.To meet the special challenges from the Games，Beijing improved its medical and health services with Zhangjiakou.
   Winter sports athletes （運(yùn)動(dòng)員） are likely to get hurt，but we have little special medical experience as a young winter sports country.To improve medical support，we took action early to train our medical workers.
   Three years ago，the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics organizing committee （組委會(huì)），together with local health and sports centers，had decided to teach the doctors and nurses how to ski and make emergency （緊急） preparations for the Olympics.The activity was held both in Beijing and Zhangjiakou.
   The organizing committee said that it chose 41 hospitals and 7 disease prevention centers to be official medical partners of the Games.It also found 101 hotels as official partners for the VIP guests.
   There are many skills that the medical workers should have.English speaking and skiing are two important skills for the medical teams.Hundreds of medical professionals from Beijing and Hebei received English and ski training.The medical workers were also trained to get to the injured athlete in the shortest time.They also knew how to work with the local government to make sure the green lanes were clean both on the ground and in the air.
