   The woodlands are just one of the area's memorable sites.East of Juneau lies the spectacular Juneau Icefield.The icefield stretches for nearly 1，200 square miles.The icefield is the source of more than 30 valley glaciers.Glaciers are extended masses of ice formed by years of accumulated falling snow.Valley glaciers descend from high mountains and they move very slowly.Presently，these glaciers are all gradually retreating back to the mountains.
