This is interesting to me because I have noticed the change of Chinese products in Pakistan over time.It is true that in the 1990s,Chinese products were not considered of high quality. They were bought by the poor and not expected to last long.I remember they were cheap toys, clothes, etc.
Last month,I was in the market to buy some sheep. While talking with the sheep keeper,I noticed something like a radio around his neck.I asked him what it was.He showed it to me and I was surprised to see that it was a cool music player. There was also a cell casing (電池外殼) on the back.I asked him where he got this and why.His reply was:"I get bored when I take my sheep out to the mountains for feeding. So I got this from the local shop that sells Chinese products.I can keep it charged (充電) using the sun only and have a few cheap cells to keep it going when needed.I can listen to the radio, some songs on the player. This helps me pass the time when I have to feed my sheep."
But why this player? Why not some others?"It's made in China and cheap enough for me to afford.Another reason is that I couldn't find anything else that meet?my?needs like this one."
   It's?clear?that "made?in?China" really?doesn't?mean?what?it?used?to be.

  • 2.Birth order-- does it matter? Are you different because you are the list, second,or third child 的your family or maybe the last of nine?
A study found that first-borns have an average (平均的) 1 Q that is three points higher than people who fall into a different place in the birth order, perhaps because fist borns often help younger brothers and sisters, which improves their own skills. In 2007,an international organization of CEOs found that 43% of CEOs are first-borns,33% are middle children, and 23% are last-borns.Fist-borns are more likely to be doctors and astronauts and get higher pay.
If first-borns are more successful last-borns are generally more agreeable (討人喜歡的) They are also more likely to be funny, possibly to get attention from all the older people at the dinner table.Mark Twain and Stephen Colbert are both the youngest in large families, and Jim Carrey is the youngest among his siblings (兄弟姐妹).According to a 2007 Time magazine article "The Power of Birth Order",last-borns are more likely to be artists and successful businessmen.
Then there are the middle children:we have not ignored (忽視) them! Many middle children are short of on-on-one time with their parents. They often feel short-changed:the oldest gets more rights, and the youngest is spoiled (寵壞).Though middle children may be ignored, they are more likely to grow into easygoing adults.
